Privacy Notice

How Paperoot handles information submitted through the current prelaunch website.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Who is responsible

For the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, the data controller is Zarsham, trading as Paperoot. Privacy questions and rights requests may be sent to hello@paperoot.co.uk.

Current website

This website presents Paperoot brand, product-development, Journal and business-interest information. Products cannot currently be purchased through the website. The website does not operate customer accounts, store shopping baskets or collect payment information.

Information submitted through forms

The website includes forms for general enquiries, business interest and optional development updates. Depending on the form used, information may include a name, email address, business details, location, enquiry type, areas of interest, consent choices and a message. Forms are processed through Netlify, the website hosting and form-processing provider, and made available to Paperoot.

Purposes and lawful bases

General and business-enquiry information is used to read and respond to messages and manage the relevant conversation. Paperoot relies on its legitimate interests in operating and developing the business for this limited enquiry handling. The Development Updates form records an optional request for future updates; consent is the basis for holding and later using those details for that purpose. Paperoot is not currently sending Development Updates emails. Hosting and security logs may be processed for the legitimate interests of keeping the website secure and reliable.

Development Updates and marketing choices

A general or business enquiry does not automatically subscribe the sender to marketing. Optional update checkboxes are separate and unticked by default. Paperoot is not currently sending Development Updates emails and has not yet selected a separate mailing-list or newsletter provider. Details submitted through the Development Updates form may be held while the person remains registered for future updates. Before Paperoot begins sending development-update emails or introduces a separate mailing provider, this Privacy Notice will be reviewed and updated where necessary. Consent can be withdrawn, or removal requested, at any time by emailing hello@paperoot.co.uk.

Recipients and service providers

Netlify, including Netlify Forms, handles website hosting and form submissions for Paperoot. Microsoft 365 provides Paperoot’s email service and is currently obtained and managed through GoDaddy. Information submitted through the website may therefore be handled by these services as part of receiving and responding to an enquiry. This notice will be reviewed if the provider arrangements change.

Retention

General enquiries are normally retained for up to 30 days. Where an enquiry develops into an ongoing conversation or another genuine reason requires the information to be retained for longer, it may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose.

Business enquiries are normally retained for up to 30 days. Where an enquiry develops into an ongoing business conversation or another genuine reason requires the information to be retained for longer, it may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose.

Development Updates details may be held while the person remains registered for future updates and can be removed when consent is withdrawn or removal is requested. Paperoot is not currently sending Development Updates emails and has not selected a separate mailing provider. Hosting and security records follow the relevant provider settings.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information, restrict or object to processing, receive certain information in a portable format and withdraw consent. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact Paperoot first at hello@paperoot.co.uk so the request can be handled.

Required information and automated decisions

Required form fields are marked. Without the required contact information Paperoot may be unable to respond. The current prelaunch forms are not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
